1.- ENIDRAS THE TRAVELER SARDINE
Once upon
a time there was a small sardine that was born in Chipiona.
Her name is ENIDRAS
(SARDINE ENIDRAS).She is
small, thin and blue. Her scales are silvered
and they are very bright. She is very kind and she likes to help her friends.
She
also likes to travel through the seas looking for adventures. So she decides to
start a long travel after a big storm.
2. - PLAYING WITH HER FRIENDS
Enidras the sardine is very playful
and she plays with her friends.
She loves playing in the water.
She has got a lot of friends. What Enidras enjoys the most is to
have fun with them.
Enidras´ friends are an octopus, a
crab and a galend. She also plays with her friend the
starfish.
Enidras loves playing with the foam
of the waves.
She likes playing “hide and seek”,
“pilla – pilla” and “torito por lo alto”. She watches movies and hides between
the rocks.
Enidras goes to school with her
friends and when they finish school they play their favourite game “hide and seek”.
Then, they go to sleep.
The sardine likes playing any game.
She travels through the sea and asks the eldery what she
doesn´t know about it.
Enidras has got many
friends from other countries and enjoys going to the cinema with them every
Saturday
3.- AT SCHOOL
Once upon a time there was a Spanish
sardine.
Her name is Enidras.
Enidras lives on the coast of Chipiona in the Atlantic Ocean. Enidras loves
school. Her books are made of coloured seaweed and the school is a big bubble. She always goes to school with three friends: a crab, an “acedia” and a cuttlefish.
Before
going into class Enidras plays “futstar”. She plays “futstar” with a starfish.
Enidras
learns a lot in the school. She likes science. With her teacher Mr. Crab she learns about Chipiona´s
coast and its fish, crustaceans and molluscs: sardines, “acedias”, shrimps, cuttlefish
and so on.
In math Mr. Octopus teaches how to add 2 +2, Enidras learns
addition with small
shells.
In language class with Miss Ray Enidras tells and writes stories about
fish. Enidras´
favourite subject is English because she learns many words with Miss “Corvina”.
Enidras
also loves doing crafts with Miss “Dorada”. Once she painted a shell with many
colours. That was nice!
Someday
Enidras may travel to Europe, learn about other countries and make friends in
other seas.
4.- ENIDRAS AND EUROPE
After
school Enidras plays hide and seek, “futbujas”, the boomerang or racing with
all her friends. Some evenings she visits
the pier to see the boats and fishermen. She is always very careful not to get
tangled in nets or fishing rods.
One day
Enidras went on a school trip. She visited the lighthouse with some friends.
Chipiona´s lighthouse is the highest in Spain.
Enidras wanted to know how the lighthouse
works. She learned how the lighthouse guides the ships that sail the Atlantic
Ocean.
Returning home Enidras and her friends found a “marrajo”. This fish tried to eat them but Enidras, who is very clever, had a plan with the “pargo” and the “sargo” to distract the “marrajo” while the jellyfish stung him. They will never forget that adventure!
When
she finishes her homework Enidras likes reading but sometimes she watches the television
programs about the world's oceans and seas. She would like to travel to all
those seas.
Enidras knows she is very popular in
Spain. She has many friends and peers with which she has fun and is happy.
However, she always dreamed about travelling and seeing other places. Enidras
would like to go to the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean Sea, the
Tyrrhenian Sea, Black sea ... She would love to swim in other waters, meet
other people and make new friends such as: a seal, a mussel, a jellyfish, a
tuna or a ray.
At
school she tells her friends:
-
Someday I'll swim in the seas of Europe. I want
everyone knows me. I really want to go to The Netherlands, to France, to Italy,
to Germany and to Poland!
One day
at school Mr. Crab and Miss “Corvina” told the students that everyone would
participate in a project called “Pezmenius”–“fishmenius”-. One of the students
from “Pezlandia” school of Chipiona could make a trip and visit some European
seas.
Everyone
did a vote in class and Enidras was elected because she was very studious,
loving and because everyone knew the illusion that the trip made her.
Enidras
was very pleased that her classmates had chosen her. She clapped her fins,
she was so happy! Enidras in a hurry told everything to her parents Mr. and
Mrs. “Sardinete Panchete and Sardinilla Ripilina”.
Her
parents told Enidras:
- As you
are very good with languages and
you enjoy travelling we'll let you make that trip around Europe to learn many
things.
- Fantastic!, Fantastic!
- Where would you like to go Enidras?
Enidras
decided to visit five teachers from different seas of Europe. First, she will
visit a teacher -Mr. Mussel- in The Netherlands. Second, she will go to France.
There Enidras will meet Miss Ray. Then she will visit Miss Jellyfish in
Germany. Fourth, Enidras will go to Italy to meet Mr. Tuna. And finally she
will travel to Poland and learn with Miss Seal.
- But how can we get money for the trip?
- Don´t worry, each year the council makes a story
competition and the winner is paid a language course.
Enidras
very excited wrote her story about Chipiona using all their knowledge and
skills.
The day
of the competition arrived and all the participants gathered at City Hall. The
mayor - Mr. Salmon- counted all the votes and announced:
-The winner is ... the sardine Enidras!
- Thank you very much to everyone for voting for me! I
am very happy to be chosen to travel throughout the seas of Europe. I will
learn how to speak English well and other languages.
Enidras
organized a party in “La Longuera” to celebrate her award with all her friends.
After the party Enidras went to prepare her luggage because her expected trip
was about to begin.
5.- ENIDRAS DISCOVERS THE
NORTH SEA
The night before leaving, Enidras
almost could not sleep because she was very nervous. Although it was the first
time she traveled alone Enidras knew everything would be fine. The following
morning Enidras was punctual in the place where she had to take the fishbowl
that would lead her to The Netherlands. During the trip she met many fish; some
of them were unknown to her. It was a wonderful trip.
Once in The Netherlands Enidras
was greeted with a warm welcome. She was very excited. Mr. Mussel had prepared
her entire stay in detail. Enidras spent a few fabulous days. There, she
learned many interesting things related to the North Sea and its coasts which
was the first time she visited
6. - TO BE CONTINUED…
Each country has to write stories and legends
about the adventures of the Sardine ENIDRAS.
These
stories will be written by the students
We will
use an education line based on the story of the traveler sardine “ENIDRAS"
who wants to learn many things about the seas of Europe and who will teach us,
on each imaginary trip, a variety of fun sequences.
