WRITE YOUR STORY
After
a short stay in Hamburg, Enidras and her friends, Mr
Mussel, Miss Ray and Miss Jellyfish, decided to set out on a new journey; it would have been very long. They left the North Sea, and swimming across the
Channel, they reached the Atlantic
Ocean.
Enidras said: “it will be a bit hard my friends, as the winter is coming, and we have to overcome many storms”

"Don’t
worry" Mr Mussel replied ” after
all the adventures we have had, I think there is nothing we can be afraid of “
“
Yes, I think this too, " Jellyfish said.
"But,
where are we going?" Miss Ray asked
"We
must go back to the Mediterranean Sea,
my parents told me about a very beautiful island, called Island of the Sun that is there" Enidras
answered.
Mr.
Mussel asked: "who will we meet there?"
Enidras
said:” it’s a surprise! I don’t want to tell you anything now!”
While
they were swimming in the depth of the ocean, suddenly , they saw a huge white
whale. "Quick!, let's hide in that
cave, otherwise we will end up in
to the belly of the whale, and, farewell journey!” Miss Ray cried.
"Let’s
keep our temper calm, friends, otherwise will end badly,” Mr Mussel encouraged
them.
So,
they all hid in the cave, waiting for the whale went away.
While
they were embracing and encouraging each other, they suddenly heard a very loud
rumble , and saw a big piece of rock breaking off the wall. A long tunnel
appeared.
They
decided to walk across it and when
reached the end, they saw a bright light
reflecting in the water.
Enidras
came up and very amazed shouted: "Friends, this is the lighthouse of Chipiona!"
"Hurray!
we are safe!" the other cried.
As Christmas was coming, Enidras had a good idea: "what do you
think about spending here Christmas and
taking the journey again? the Island of
the sun isn’t far away .”All agreed…….
After having spent Christmas in Chipiona, Enidras and
her friends decided to set out again on the journey towards the Island of the Sun. After having swum for
some days, they reached the Mediterranean Sea, at least. Then, Enidras said to her
friends: "it's time I tell you,
who will meet here"
Miss Jellyfish, smiling, replied: "come on!,
don't keep us so anxious".
Enidras
said them: “the friend I’ ll introduce you, is called
Mr. Maratuna, I know him, because, once, he came to Chipiona with his parents. He’s big and very
nice. He will guide us during the time
we will stay here.”
While Enidras
was speaking with her friends, a group of fish arrived. "Sorry, we have heard the name
Maratuna, are you looking for him?"
“ Yes, we are” they all answered.
“Come with us. We will take you to him, he will tell you his sad story”
After having
swum for hours, they reached a group of three beautiful Islands. Mr.
Mussel asked: "have we already arrived at the Island of the Sun?"
An Octopus replied: "No, these three islands are
close to it; they are Favignana,
Marettimo and Levanzo.”
The four
friends were astonished by those islands
But when they reached an area where there was an
emerald-green water, they saw a great group of tunas, immediately Enidras
recognized Mr. Maratuna and
ran to greet him. He was very happy to see
“Come and meet my friends!, " Enidras
said. So, everyone made acquaintance
with him. But, they soon realized that there was something sad in his eyes;
they asked him why he was so sad. He said that his parents had been captured and killed
.They all became sad, and Enidras said to him: "but how did it
happen?", Mr. Maratuna answered: "You should know that here, in these waters, near the Island of
Favignana, a few years ago, the" Mattanza " was made. I think
you want to know what “Mattanza” was, so I ‘ll
show you a video that illustrates what was done to the tunas. Look ! !

They all remained silent for some time, upset at those
images; Enidras said:”But, does all this still happen?”
“No, fortunately, it doesn’t”
Mr Maratuna answered, the fishing of tunas, called
mattanza, was done until a few years ago, both in the Tonnara of Favignana and
Bonagia.
Today, these places are only tourist places; if you
want, I’ll show you them”.
“Yes, Mr Mussel said, “we’d like to see them”.
Miss Jelljfish asked: ”Were your parents among these tunas we
saw in the pictures?”
No, they weren’t, they had been netted almost alive
and then killed” Mr Maratuna replied, with tears in his eyes;
“Look, I have still got my dad’s picture, when he was
caught”.
Miss Ray said: "that’s enough! Stop talking about it
because it still causes you sorrow “.
They all agreed with her, and invited Mr. Maratuna to
show them some characteristic places of the Island of the Sun. He answered
saying that he would be happy to accompany them, so he would relax a bit and
wouldn’t think to what had happened.
They greeted the other fish and began swimming towards
the Island of the Sun. After nearly half an hour, thy arrived in a very large
harbour and decided to spend, there, some days. They found shelter under one of
the big ships anchored.
Mr. Maratuna suggested to look at the beautiful mountain in front of
them and added that there was a wonderful coast behind it, they would visit the
following day.
They spent the evening with the other fish, and Enidras told everybody about the
beginning of her journey, the friends who had met in the various seas she had visited, and the adventures she had had with them. The following day, the
bright light of the warm sun, woke up them.
“Oh! It’s wonderful here! This calm, warm, bright sea!
These beautiful corals! It seems to be in paradise!” Enidras said.
“Yes, I know” Mr Maratuna replied. “You must know that
storms are unusual, here, the sun shines almost every day. But, let’s go on
with our tour!”
They were swimming towards the Tonnara of Bonagia,
when they realized that
Miss Ray wasn’t with them.
So, Miss Jellyfish shouted;”Stop,
friends!
I don’t see Miss Ray! Where can she be?”
Mr Maratuna said :”wait! I’ll go back to
look for her!”
He came back and suddenly saw Miss Ray talking to a
shoal of sardines. She hadn’t noticed that
her friends had already gone away “Come on! Hurry up! Our friends are worried ”Miss
Jellyfish said:”Sorry, it’s so nice here!
They both joined the other fish, and went on swimming.
After a few minutes, they reached the
coast which goes from Bonagia to Cornino.
"Oh!!! how wonderful "They all cried , seeing the landscape.
Mr Maratuna was so happy as he had never been before.
Suddenly he had an idea and said: ”Dear friends, I think you are leaving soon.
What do you think if I join you in this great and wonderful adventure?”
When they heard those words, they were happy. The
following day, they decided to undertake a new journey, explore new places and
meet other friends.
